PSG – Microprocessor “ERR” issues

SYMPTOMS
Persistent PSG microprocessor control “Err” (top screen) with “TSO” or “TSI” showing on bottom screen. This bulletin also covers a “32” (top screen) and “32” (bottom screen) error messages.

CAUSE
Possible harmonic interference from high voltage power wires being 10 inches (or less) from the back of the microprocessor or the temperature sensor wires. Possible microprocessor incompatibility with updated temperature sensors.

RESOLUTION
********* Important Update ********
On 12-31-15, PSG Controls (makers of chiller controls from 2000 to 2012 for both Legacy and Drake brand chillers) went out of business. As a result, replacement parts for this process chiller control system are expected to run out in 2016.

As of 1-1-2013, Legacy Chiller Systems has developed a retrofit package for the PSG process chiller control system. For more information CLICK HERE

If your chiller was manufactured prior to 10-10-10, please contact Legacy Chiller Systems parts department as your chillers PSG microprocessor controller may qualify for a special upgrade program. If your process chiller qualifies for this program, Legacy will provide a replacement Microprocessor controller, temperature sensors. A labor allowance of up to $100.00 may also be approved if your chiller was manufactured after 10-10-11. Please contact 877-988-5464 x 100 for more information.

APPLIES TO
All Legacy Chiller Systems models manufactured with the PSG microprocessor controller after 10-10-10.
