Outdoor Skating Rink
– A Customer Spotlight Report –
Alan Meyers and Troy Sjostrom
Baytowne Wharf, Miramar Beach, FL.
The Village of Baytowne Wharf has been in existence since August 2002. The ice rink has been in operation since 2007. The skating season usually starts on Halloween through the first week of February.
The off-season (winter) has always been real slow for us since we are a summer beach destination. This was an idea that Troy and I brought to the table to try and drive traffic when our merchants needed it the most. Folks come from all over the panhandle to see the “real ice”.
There’s really nothing like it in the area, and the Village serves as a great backdrop for the guests to Shop, Dine, and Play after skating.
Our chiller that we had originally bought back in 2007 finally gave up the ghost last year, forcing us to end the season a few weeks early. We had been contemplating purchasing a new chiller the last few years, but the 2017/2018 season went so smooth we felt the chiller had some more useful years.
We had a ton of issues in the 2018/2019 season that we did not anticipate, making it costly to operate as well as forcing us to end the season early. We did a quick google search for companies that could deliver a custom chiller to meet our needs.
After a few conversations with Legacy Chillers, we felt very comfortable in your knowledge of what we were trying to accomplish and ultimately the pricing was very competitive. Could not have asked for a better experience. The knowledge within the field that you support is obvious and the constant communication throughout the process was very helpful.
I would certainly recommend Legacy Chiller Systems to anyone!
