RESOLUTION Condition normally occurs at initial startup of chiller. Most common cause is the compressor’s internal scroll running backwards. Most likely, all other three phase motors within the chiller will be running the wrong direction as well.
To correct this problem, switch any two legs on the CHILLERS three phase power buss. This will cause all three phase motors to turn the correct direction and should eliminate the excessive compressor noise.
